Spoleto Festival USA has announced its 41st Season, which will take place May 26-June 11, 2017, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Of its varied and eclectic artistic lineup, the program features even more dance than in previous years. The College of Charleston’s Sottile Theatre will welcome contemporary dance companies from around the globe, including France’s ballet-meets-hip-hop duo Wang Ramirez, Israel’s L-E-V, and the New York-based Gallim Dance.

The Woolfe Street Playhouse will see tap dancer and choreographer Ayodele Casel (also a Capezio Athlete) present a world premiere from June 1. Plus, flamenco artist María Pagés returns to the Festival on May 27 and 28 to embody the legendary character of Carmen in her vibrant ode to femininity entitled Yo, Carmen.
