Boston Ballet presents 2016–2017 Season

Led by Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen, Boston Ballet will kick off its 53rd season on October 27-November 6, 2016, with the classical ballet Le Corsaire, a story steeped in swashbuckling adventure and passionate romance.

The 2016-2017 Season will also include: the enchanting holiday classic The Nutcracker, choreographed by Nissinen to the music of Tchaikovsky (November 25-December 31, 2016); the North American company premiere of William Forsythe’s Artifact (February 23-March 5, 2017); a mixed program with works by Jiří Kylián, George Balanchine, Alexander Ekman (Marc 23-April 2, 2017); Marius Petipa’s quintessential The Sleeping Beauty (April 28-May 25, 2017); and a second mixed bill with pieces by Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Jorma Elo (May 5-27, 2017.)

Nissinen said the season is a “cornucopia of incredible dance full of company premieres, world famous productions, several well-loved ballets and a world premiere.”
