The Music Center lifts the curtain on its 2016-2017 Dance Season

  • May 6, 2016

The Music Center’s formidable new dance season hopes to delight both dance enthusiasts and art newbies alike by “challenging preconceived notions of classical ballet and exploring the realm of contemporary expression.”

As the first season to be launched under new President and CEO Rachel Moore (former American Ballet Theatre CEO), it will welcome some of the finest U.S. and international dance companies to Los Angeles, many who are breaking the boundaries of dance today.

Kicking off its 2016-2017 Dance Season on October 21-23 will be a mixed repertory program entitled “Celebrate Forsythe,” a salute to one of America’s top choreographers, William Forsythe.

This program includes three elite American ballet companies – San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Houston Ballet – all sharing one stage in a never-before-seen performance.
