Star Dance Alliance (SDA) is one of the world’s largest dance competition circuits, now running events in 16 countries around the globe every year. In addition to offering touring dance conventions and competitions like Starpower, NexStar, Imagine, Believe and Revolution, SDA hosts national summer events like World Dance Championship and World Dance Pageant.

For 2017, World Dance Championship will run August 1-6 at Meadowlands Exposition Convention Center in Secaucus, NJ. Competitors are only allowed if they previously received “a golden ticket” inviting their top scoring routine at another SDA regional event. The deadline to apply for World Dance Championship is July 1.

The World Dance Pageant is also set to take place at Meadowlands, but only for three days on July 31-August 2. Unlike World Dance Championship, there is no preliminary qualification required to enter this competition. According to their age, dancers are able to compete for certain titles and prizes, like the top designation of “Miss World Dance.” Contestants compete as individuals in talent, interview, modeling and ballet, jazz and contemporary/lyrical classes for three days.
