Oregon Ballet Theatre presents Kevin Irving’s “Swan Lake”

Oregon Ballet Theatre’s 2016-2017 Season continues with Artistic Director Kevin Irving’s adaptation of Swan Lake on February 18-25 at Portland’s Keller Auditorium.

While still maintaining much of the historic Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa choreography, Irving has evolved the original story by highlighting a more complex drama with Prince Siegfried. The new perspective presents a unique opportunity for a tour-de-force performance for the male lead in a ballet that has conventionally been considered a hallmark only for the prima ballerina.

Irving’s staging will be complemented by the OBT Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky’s glorious score live.
